Imam Hasan Centre – Response to Queries RE: Arif Abdulhussein
Salaam Alaykum
Dear Members of the Community,
Throughout the period of Muharram 1439 (2017), questions have been raised both through direct communication with Sheikh Arif Abdulhussein and the Trustees & Directors of Imam Hasan Centre, as well as via a multitude of online platforms, as to the credibility of Sheikh Arif Abdulhussein’s lectures, in particular certain topics regarding the Articles of Faith that he chose to present at Imam Hasan Centre.
The Imam Hasan Centre’s Trustees & Directors took these questions very seriously, and for the purpose of assuring the greater community was not being misled or ill informed, sought to clarify from the relevant authority around these queries.
Attached is a copy of the response received from Ayatollah Seyed Mustafa Mohaghegh Damad (Grandson of Abdul-Karim Ha’eri Yazdi, was founder of Qom seminary).
Ayatollah Seyed Mustafa Mohaghegh is also The Chairman of the Department of Islamic Studies at the Academy of Sciences, Iran, confirming his support and acceptance of the nature of both the content recited & Sheikh Arif Abdulhussein’s work in the greater community.
On the basis of the evidence obtained (attached to this email), the supportive views from our community, and other sources on the credibility and technicality of the topics covered, the Trustees and the Directors of Imam Hasan Centre, unanimously stand alongside the decision taken to invite Sheikh Arif Abdulhussein.
At all times, the Trustees and Directors of Imam Hasan Centre ensures that any speakers reciting at the centre are in a position to best influence our community and in particular our youths.
Whilst we respect the right of people to have a difference of opinion, we however, request that going forward, these matters are handled with respect and shared with the Trustee’s and Directors of Imam Hasan Centre without discrediting any respected scholars.
