Zilhajj Moon-sighting Update – Eid-ul-Adha Monday 12th September 2016 – Update
Salaam Alaykum,
Imam Hasan Centre will be observing the 1st Night of Zilhajj as Friday the 2nd of September 2016 and will be observing EID-ul-ADHA on Monday 12th September 2016. 1st Day of Zilhajj being – Saturday 3rd September 2016.
Eid prayers will be at 8.00 AM Monday 12th September 2016.
Although due to heavy cloud and rain the moon was not sighted in Sydney on Friday night under the guidance and observance of the rule below, the moon altitude was more than 8 degrees above the horizon and had set more than 40 minutes after sunset. The moon on Saturday night was at an altitude of 20 Degrees which significantly higher than for a 1st night moon and set very late.
We will be adhering to rule attached.
We respect the right of other communities who may choose to perform Eid-ul-Adha on Tuesday and we pay to Allah to accept all our efforts.
