The Grand Final of the 2nd Annual Australian Quran Recitation Competition held at Imam Hasan Centre on Sunday 11th May 2025 was a gathering of the finest of Australia’s Quran reciters. The event provided a platform for youth and adults to celebrate their dedication and commitment to recitation of the Quran. The audience members engaged with the Quran in a meaningful and inspiring manner.
Over 60 competitors from Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth joined those from Sydney in a contest of the highest standard, many of them native Arabic speakers. The two main categories were Tahqeeq and Tarteel for Under 17s and 17 and above for males. For the sisters, the categories were Tarteel for Under 17s and 17 and above.
We would like to extend gratitude to the eminent judges for their efforts in adjudicating the competition. Thanks also go to the contestants for their diligence and participation, to their parents for enabling them the opportunities, and their families for accompanying them to the event.
Inshallah we look forward to more forums in the future which place the recitation of the Quran on centre stage.
